Raised Floor & Plenum Pressure
In a raised floor data center the underfloor plenum is the delivery system for all of your cooling. Static pressure under the floor is what pushes air up through the perforated tiles and into the server inlets — and it is invisible unless you measure it.
- Confirm delivery, not intent: tile placement, cable congestion and unsealed cut-outs all change what actually reaches the racks.
- Catch changes over time: every re-cabling job, floor tile lift or new rack alters the plenum. Continuous measurement shows the drift.
- Support CFD assumptions: a model is only as good as the pressure it assumes. Real readings give the model something to be measured against.
Pressure & Temperature in One Sensor
The ENV-AIRPRESSURE returns two measurements over a single sensor port on the base unit: differential air pressure in Pascal, and the air temperature at the same point.
- Pressure range of -500 Pa to +500 Pa (±2.0 inH2O), accuracy 0.5 Pa.
- Temperature range of -45°C to +85°C (-49°F to +185°F), 0.1°C resolution, ±0.5°C accuracy.
- Digital measurement end to end — no analogue signal path to drift between the probe and the base unit.
- Independent thresholds and alerts per reading.
- The sensor is designed in the USA; the pressure and temperature sensor elements are made in Switzerland.
How It Works
The ENV-AIRPRESSURE connects to the base unit over a standard network cable, up to 100m (330ft), which makes it an Ethernet differential air pressure & temperature sensor. The base unit is a standalone device with its own IP address — on its own it monitors the sensor and triggers alerts, with no PC or software required.
- Measures differential air pressure in Pascal and the air temperature at the same point.
- Powered by the base unit (PoE, 12v DC, optionally 24v or -48v).
