Siloxanes come from silicone sealants, gaskets and coatings, and are a known cause of sensitivity loss in combustible gas sensors. In an independent laboratory test (January 2026) the R-GAS-FLAMMABLE and a legacy detector were exposed together, in the same chamber, to D4 and D5 siloxane vapor at 50 °C: three steps of 24 h each, with the same 25 %LEL hydrogen test gas before the series and after each step.
